Hi Silvia,
Welcome to our forum. As of now, the TOEIC measures your reading and listening comprehension directly, this means there is no speaking part. Before the actual test starts, you have to fill in a short questionnaire which is for statistical purposes only and does not affect your TOEIC score. Please let me know if this answers your question. By the way, when and why are you going to take the TOEIC?

Ok Torsten, thanks. The thing is that I have the book "How to prepare for the TOEIC Test" from Barron's and there is a chapter entitled "Test of spoken English" that confused me, because later in the book there are 6 model tests and none of them contain a speaking part. I really don't understand what's that chapter for! ;( Regards, S?lvia P.S. I will probably take the test for professional reasons. I'm studying Marketing. |

Hi Silvia
The speaking part is aoptional at the moment and is a module. It is part of the new test revamp. Here is a preparation site where you can try all the tests and even the new speaking part. onlineenglish.de/toeicprep I am actually the webmaster and would be pleased to help you if I can. |
