Hi Jordano,

This expression - what's in store? suggests what can we expect? You would usually say 'on' television.

Thanks everybody on the forum for your answers. I think I understand now, 'in store' means 'reserved'. Which means the idiom ' what's in store for you on the television tonight' means ' what programmes are reserved/available for you on the television tonight'.
Am I right? Please verivy.

Hi,

I would say 'available' and not 'reserved'.

I would like 2 idioms about "in store" which met lot of lack of comprehension:

1. What the future has in store ?
2.What knows what the future my hold in store?

P.s: for 2011 year

Any good?

Time will tell - we will know after some time has passed; we will find out in the future.

Saving for a rainy day - not acting on something now, but storing it for future use; saving something that will be useful in the future for that time.

Hello BZ,
Yes time will tell ,but if I ask something I would like saving a little health for the future for myself and for my husband and of course for my children and grandchildren. When I used to be young I always laughed when my grandmother told us: " The health is the most important."
Now I don't laugh because I know from experience without health you can't do anything.
I wish you also very good health!!!

'Store' here does not menan 'market' or 'shop'

what does the future have in store' is idiomatic and means 'what does the future hold for me'
