I can't tell the diferrence between the usage of "went" and "visited" in this sentence, please explain.

You can go to a museum, an exhibition, a place, etc. and you can visit a museum, an exhibition etc.

visit + object
go to + object

I thought that we used visit for internet , in the sentence we are visiting a internet site , no???

Yes, you can also visit an Internet site which means, you view the pages through your browser. When you visit a web page or site you read the information contained on it.

You cannot use visited because the word 'to' is in the test sentence. Of the three options, only went can be used with 'to':
- "Yesterday I went to an archeological site..."
.
.
If the word 'to' were not in the test sentence, then you could use visited:
- "Yesterday I visited an archeological site..."
