I am 25 years old and I can CERTAINLY say that childhood is a wOnderful time of my life. Many adults want to GO back TO childhood, I.E. they want to be kidS again. But some people don't want to RECALL/REMEMBER their childhood. You want to ask me "Why they don't want to REMEMBER their childhood ?" I will try to answer your question.
Children who grow up in a family, surrounded with love and care REMEMBER their childhood as the happiest time of their life. In holidays when THE family MEETS UP people recollect their childhood. They REMBER THEIR first day AT school, THEIR first love, some of them THEIR first kiss.
Some people don't want TO REMEMBER their childhood, I think becouse their childhood wAS unhappy and hard. Unfortunately not everyone grows up in A family, surrounded with love and care.
However childhood is the happiest time of my life. I always REMEBER childhood with a smile upon my face. So for some people childhood is the happiest time of their life and for others noT. Alan _________________ English as a Second Language You can read my ESL story Present Simple |

Dear teacher, Can you shed light on me with some grammar problems ? 1: You changed "recollect" to "remember/recall" ; I checked their meanings and saw nothing different between them . Here is one extract:
| Quote: |
RECOLLECT :remember, recall knowledge from memory; have a recollection; "I can't remember saying any such thing"; "I can't think what her last name was"; "can you remember her phone number?"; "Do you remember that he once loved you?"; "call up memories" wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn
|
So why did you choose "remember" ? 2: As far as I know ,We should constrain to use phrase verbs . So why did you choose "meet up " ? Thanks . |
