This is neat.

To the best of our knowledge, "Safford" is Norman. It very likely stems from "Salford", which we figure means "salt ford" or "salt bridge".

The other day, someone in here mentioned what "Thomas" means. If memory serves, it's "great fellow" or something like that.

hehe

It actually has something to do with "twin" or "twins".

So I suppose it's either from Salford or Seaford.

So... "salt bridge" or "sea bridge"

Hi NinaZara,
Interesting enough, but "Nur" in written form is used in Turkish with the same meaning "light". How comes two different languages far apart from each other have the same word with the same meaning?
Easily, anyone can see from that nice coincidence that we- human beings- have a lot in common.
