Hi,

In this post, when referring to hackers, I am referring to computer whizzes who unlawfully enter people's systems so as to access their data.

I have come to understand that it is relatively easy for people to make their way into people's computers and files. Some companies even sell software for people who want to spy on a person of their choice (see e.g. www.beahacker.com).

Do you have an idea of how easy it actually is to gain access to private persons' files?

Hi Englishuser,

I think for the average person it's fairly difficult to access another person's computer through the Internet. As I see it, the vast majority of Internet users doesn't bother much about technology, all they want is just consume information or rather be entertained. They walk into a computer store and buy a system that is ready for use. Why bother with all that security stuff? Let the big boys handle it. After all I've paid money for it, haven't I? What I'm trying to say is that most people are not interested in educating themselves about new technologies. When there is a new product, above all it has to simple so it can be distributed to a mass market. Who cares how a mobile phone works as long it's easy to use?
Thanks,
Torsten

Hi Torsten,

Sometimes more ambiguous titles attract attention.

Hi EU,

In this particular instance I completely agree with you. I must admit my heart skipped a beat when I saw the word "hackers" as the title of your latest thread Wink...
