I'm not sure, but I think, I read that is not correct English.

Richard,

Where did you read that? The reason why we have set up this website is that we want to deliver English language training to people from all around the world. If you are not sure if a phrase is correct or not, put it into quotation marks and google it. "The reason why" returns more than 3 million entries, loooks like very correct English to me.
Also, why would Alan use a phrase that is not correct English?

but I got it wrong.
What we can not say is: "the reason because"
