Richard,
Where did you read that? The reason why we have set up this website is that we want to deliver English language training to people from all around the world. If you are not sure if a phrase is correct or not, put it into quotation marks and google it. "The reason why" returns more than 3 million entries, loooks like very correct English to me. Also, why would Alan use a phrase that is not correct English?

Dear Torsten, I did not mean to be rude, I just wanted to be sure that is correct to say so. Even though I'll try to check where I read this and then I'll tell you.
I really appreciate what you and Allan do. please do not take me wrong.

I finally found what I was referring to, and it's "Redundancy" but I got it wrong. What we can not say is: "the reason because"
So I have to apologize to you. but let me tell you I won't forget it anymore.
trully sorry.. rich7. |

Hi Richard,
No need to apologize. This type of questions shows your interest in the English language and helps others to learn faster.

Hi,
In the test sentence the word 'speech' is used to describe something that is prepared and delivered by a speaker and refers to a particular topic. 'Speaking' refers to the general activity of saying something or talking.
