Dear english-test.net Team,
I feel so thill to receive your e- mail, it shows taht you are care about the people who relly wants to learn english well.
In my country (Indonesia), english is the third language after native languange and Indonesian, so its still difficult to learn english because the structure is way different, in Indonesia, there is no past, present, or future., everything is the same, the verb is not change depend on the time, but we are use a lot of prefixes ,suffiixes, etc.
Now, i am teaching children, teenagers, and adult. they said that my english is good, but i dont think so. My grammar is meesy, messy, messy........but i really want to help them, so i never give up to learn english, because english is fun.
Thanks. Leni Widi Mulyani |

Dear Alan,
Thank you very for your new letter for me. I read it through that I would say that I like it(story) very much. And then I did some vocabulary tests. I think that I am improving a lot with my lessons because this time I made very few mistakes. And I am glad being a member of your community. In my country (in the first letter i mentioned, Myanmar) we, young people have very few chance to speak English and writing and reading as well. Therefore now I am studying English very hard., because I want to be a good teacher for my country and my people. Hopefully i will start to teach English in 2009.
So thank you very much. Cecilia M. |

Dear Alan,
Thanh you for your kind email to me. I'm really surprised when reading your warm words. By the way, i would like to introduce myself to you. As a credit staff in a bank in VungTau City, Vietnam, i find it it high time to practise my English as soon as possible. I graduated from the University of Economics in HoChiMinhCity, a Western Pearl, which is the second big city in my country. It's about five years since i left for my univeristy. That's reason why i find a little embrassment in using English in my job without a teacher. How can i improve my four skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing.
I am self-studying one book instructing to take TOEFL IBT. But i can't make a progress. Can you help me?
Looking forward to hearing from you. Best regards, Uyen Tuong |

Dear Alan,
A million thanks for the wonderful letter i received from you. I was grateful that i was one of the millions who became a member of the largest English Newsletter. Your letter, essays, and practice test online was too great and splendid because i am learning many things. I am interested really with improving my english because i would like to teach students in the secondary level. I love teaching but my problem is i am very poor in english particularly in grammar and vocabulary. I find it hard also to make essays that is why i keep on surfing in the net some online studies which could help my problems in english. And i was so thankful I was able to search about you.
I am living in the Philippines and i work while i study. I am from a very poor family and just borrow computer from a friend so that i can search in the internet.
As of now i can not afford to subscribe anything because i am earning a very small income just enough for my family but i will try in the future because i love your offer and i know it will help me a lot.
Hopefully you will still continue sending me english lessons for free in the net. I would appreciate it much and thank you for everything. My apology for disturbing you.
I am looking forward to hear from you soon and hoping to receive more newsletter and free lessons from you. MT BEST WISHES AND MABUHAY!

Dear all, I am Dilorom from Tajikistan. I am a physician by training but for now I am working in International NGO. I have been working with them for four years. My English is quite good to communicate with englishspeakers but of cause it is still need to be improved both written and oral. It is important for my selfeducation and my carrier as well. I have received the news letter and was happy to read Alan Townend essays. The previous was about spring and I really enjoyed touching something beautifull and "sprung". Thanks a lot for the people who initiated and created the web sites with the tests. Millions of people who do not have an access to expensive education are really happy to be part of your learning community. Once again glad to hear from your, |

Hi Alan,
What do you think of this? It's supposed to be supplementary materials to the TOEFL essays you have been amending. The idea is create a TOEFL prep package that we can sell online. These texts were created by a Alice from Canada. Regards, Torsten
I've attached a couple of brief responses to your examples. One is a brief, five question quiz, which spans all three levels of ability.
I look forward to your response.
Regards, Alice Co. |
