Nice to meet you too. Where are you from ? I can see that you know some polish words :P I live near to Poznan in Poland. See you. |
Hi Michael,
Yes I do know a few Polish phrases and I practice saying them every time I visit your country. You might want to read How good is your English? which is a short story of mine that happened to me when I was driving through Poland.
You live about four hours from me so we could meet up for coffee and a chat in Polish, German and English some day soon.
What do you think?
By the way, do you travel to Germany sometimes? I've heard on the radio that by the end of year they are going to remove the border check points between Poland and Germany so going back and forth between both countries will be very easy.
Talk to you soon,
Cześć, Torsten

Mikel
I am a Milan fan, stemming from my time in Italy (about seven years ago).
I also like Liverpool, so I won't be pissed if they win... but I'd prefer a Milan victory. _________________ Billie Jean is not my lover. Hee. |

Not a problem I think :) But where do you live..? However, I'll read your story soon :-) Yes I have heard about the border check points between Poland and Germany. The old stuff (and people) will go to the west border check points ( Russia ) to prevent smuggling etc:P Unfortunately I don't travel to Germany. My schedule is full :/ In april I've got serious exams at my University :/
prezbucky I'm not sure that Milan is going to win this year but who knows . We will see :)

I think they should have the advantage in midfield, with Pirlo and Kaka for offense (embarrassment of riches with those two) and Gattuso/Ambrosini playing well defensively.
Who knows, though? In a one-game championship, anything can happen. _________________ Billie Jean is not my lover. Hee. |

Hi Asia,
You are from Poland too?? That's great! Nice to meet you. You are studying English Philology?? This is really interesting that you are learning to adjust to a new lifestyle...but I'm sure it's also exciting for you :D...Wow, 9 exams in June??? That's a lot. So I guess from now on you may have to learn for them. :D
Nice to meet you. Anyway, how old are you? :D |
I'm almost 20 years old. As a matter of fact 09.05 is the date of my birthday. I'd like to have a hangover next day so that I could forget about stress before exams.
It's true I have to learn a lot. I have to write the essay on my literature classes, I've chosen Plath's poems: "Lady Lazarus" and "Daddy". Now I have a difficult task: make up a thesis and compare them. Do you know any proofreader or somebody who would like to check my pice on writing classes? The topic is simple but stupid: "It's impossible to have a family and a career at the same time. Do you agree?"
It's nice to meet you too :-) See you |

So is your birthday September 5, or May 9?
hehe

So, hopeless_girl, you were born on Victory Day( In Russia, Ukraine...).
Could you tell me about your thoughts concerning the topic '"It's impossible to have a family and a career at the same time. Do you agree?"' |

Hello, If I had been born on Victory Day (8 May in Poland) my parents would have called me Victoria, but I get used to my name.
My essays are like chaos, so could you check it and correct me?
Family and career roles are interrelated. Traditional sex roles have influenced the nature of the family-career relationship. Family structure has been changed and desire to have a child is stifled by professional aspirations. It is the fact that, starting a family is for both men and women a life’s challenge. In my opinion it is possible to reconcile family life with achieving successes in work. To begin with, many women are encouraged by governments in West Europe to give birth to a baby, because highly developed societies in the next few dozens of years will certainly have to deal with lack of young employees. Many efforts have been made to improve situation of working mothers such as extending of the maternity leave and introducing special child benefit. A family-friendly policy is pursued in many countries and this is shown by the fact that more and more entrepreneurs are readily giving more flexible working conditions. In other words, women who come back from maternity leave are not put under any pressure and are able to plan their working hours to suit their needs, as a result employees gain very motivated, grateful and loyal staff. Secondly, family is essential element of our lives, since most people are convinced that career is not enough to bring complete happiness. Needless to say, we work to live, we don’t live to work. That is to say, a lonely person has to overcome every difficulty on his own, not to mention that in case of any failure he cannot count on family’s support. Moreover, if we want to derive pleasure from professional as well as domestic life the balance between them must be achieved. The key here is selecting the right work environment. For instance, good childcare facilities makes it possible for parents to go to work, and short distances between home and work mean more time with the family. In contrast, there are some people who claim that female biological function is reproduction, so she should first and foremost devote herself to creating comfortable family environment, instead of enduring job tensions. They point out that women should not combine maternal and job responsibilities, since the quality of performance will be negatively affected. Nonetheless, many politicians and celebrities are proof that it is possible to have not only a successful career, but also a rewarding and enjoyable personal life as well. Taking this points into consideration, I would say that having a family and a career at the same time is not only possible but also crucial if we want to enjoy true fulfillment in life. While many years' debate about the conditions of working parents have created a high degree of awareness, and some companies heighten their profile by respecting their employees' need for time with their families, the necessity to set appropriate priorities without sacrificing either side has always been perplexing, and remains so today. It is up to us how to find a balance. |

Thank you Pamela
I've been writing it for two days. I just hate topics like this because I've never thought about career at all. My parents are 'blue-collar workers', they didn't graduate from any univeristy and do simple mundane work so I haven't got my own opinion about professional success. I tried as might but some of my thoughts sound a little like those of feminist. Nevertheless, I can't recall any working father who sacrifices himself due to a child.
See you |
