Collateral as contents?

Hi,

On a "train the trainer" curriculum I saw this:

Collateral:

• Tutorial
  
• Online Help
  
• Slides: Installation guidelines
  
• A successful demonstration
  
• How to interact with students
  
• More ideas for online instructors
  

So obviously "collateral" can also mean "overview/agenda/contents". My question is, when would you say "collateral" and when "contents"?

I think the use of 'collateral' here is a bit 'flash' but perhaps it indicates 'related topics' and is less specific than 'contents' that would have to give full details.
