Question: How's work? Tue May 15, 2007 10:43 am  Question: How's work?

Hi All,

People asking me very often in the last time: How's work?

Is that a friendly question or simply neutral/informal?

What answer should I give on that question if nothing interesting happened?

- thanks fine
- I can't complain
- it's as usual/always

Question: How's work? Tue May 15, 2007 15:42 pm  Question: How's work?

.
Friendliness or neutrality depends entirely on the speaker's relationship with the listener, and nothing to do with the question itself.

Answer according to how your work really is:

I can't complain.
Same as usual.
Awful!
Not so bad.
Great! I've been put in charge of a project.
I wish I could find another job; this one is boring me to death.

etc.
.
