Hi, Try to improve your listening skills. If you are good at listening, you will fetch a good score because every section except Reading needs good listening skills. Practice as much as you can.Listen to english news, watch english documentaries and take as many practice tests as you can. Thanks, Tabby |

Watch English documentaries NOT (movies which contained profanities) and listen to the reader. A good reader will read SLOWLY & CLEARLY...
The accent?? :P
I *can* also speak like one of them with that accent and it feels weird because they are rolling their tongue when they talk.. _________________ I can eat 5 plates of chicken rice at 1 go...! |

| Hi, I agree you really have to work hard on your listening skills. On the other hand, toeflibt's speaking section is really a nerve-cracking one. I took it twice, you know, and honestly I found that speaking on the computer doesn't really work for me. Moreover, in my opinion, TOEFL's internet based testing, the speaking part for that matter is not a good measurement of someone's ability to communicate especially if you're under time-pressured, not to mention their speech raters who have a strictly high standards. For these reasons, that i found it unjust and unfair. I can attest to that because I just took IELTS two weeks ago and I passed it. Their speaking part is a one on one talk, and for me, personally I am more comfortable talking or having a conversation with someone rather than talking on the computer. Believe me, I've spent a lot of money for those tests, practice tests and i even paid someone to help me practice my speaking. |

Hi yobb,
There is no such thing as passing the IELTS test. But you can reach certain Band Scores on the IELTS. What are your Overall and Speaking Band Scores?

| Oh yeah, that's what i meant actually. I need to have a 6.5 total band score and I got 7.5. In regards to speaking, I got 7 which is the required spoken band. |

Hi yobb,
Congratulations! An overall Band Score of 7.5 is really good. A Band 7 in Speaking isn't bad, either.
All the best,
