Hi Alan,
Thank you for all your ideas although I don't often check my email these days because I'm so busy with my learning. I always spend time to find more documents and articles related to my study and that's why I want to say it is a good idea if we have many many web sites like yours. I will go to english-test.net regularly.
Keep sending theses newsletters! Bye Heng Seang |

Yes, I am new to your website, and I have read all your ideas. I am still fairly new to teaching, but this fall I do start teaching ESL in the Chinese classrooms. The jury is still out on some of what you have written. Since there is nothing written for the Chinese classroom, that I am aware of, I do wonder just how effective your teachings / suggestions will be in the Chinese classroom. I am also signing up for my Master's in Curriculum / Instruction specializing in ESL. I am interested to see just how effective your teachings will contribute. I have not read or done any of your tests. Edith |

Hi Alan !
I am sorry I didn't answer your e-mails before. But after a subscribed to this newsletter, I changed to a new home! I've just installed the computer and the Internet yesterday! I apologize for not writing before. I really love English and I have already taken some tests from the web site! I was very happy with the results, because my family is Italian-American from New York city. Both my grandparents are. I grew up in Austin, Texas and came to Brazil when I was 5 years old. I couldn't go to an American school here, so I studied in a Brazilian one and nobody spoke English to me... so I forgot many things... I always watch the news (fox news) and read the news in the Internet to learn new expressions in English, because I miss USA a lot! I am graduated in Arts and I am an English teacher here in Brazil.
As soon as I settle down here... so many things to do and unpack! and clean up! I will be more participative in this web site that helps so many people.
Thank you for your time writing to me.
Have a lovely Sunday,
Vanny
P.S.- I didn't erase your message, so you would remember who I am and what you wrote to me. |

Dear Alan,
Thank you for your e-mail. There is something very important that I need to know about the rules of defining words. In the definition of a word, can you use the word in the definition of that word and if so, wouldn't that make very little sense? To say that the definition of an 'automobile' would be "an automobile is an automobile with four wheels" wouldn't give anyone any idea of what an automobile actually is, would it? I would really appreciate feedback on this point. Thank you, Chris |

Dear friend Alan,
Sorry for replying late. I coughed up some business that forced me to go to Chennai, India for a week two weeks ago. I'm interested in your program to improve my English, both in speaking and writing. Your tests in structure and grammar are very exiting and demanding to do in the prescribed time.
I'll be seeing you soon. Laurentius Soepomo. |

Hello Alan,
Yes, thank you for your explanation of anything concerning with English.
I need to measure my English since English is NOT our first language in my country, Indonesia. Aso, I'm a teacher of English in a private vocational high school in bandung, west java- Indonesia- that I have to sharpen my capability of English in all aspects.
OK, someday i must have a simple test or something like that from your site. thank you very much.

Hello Alan,
Thank you very much for sending letters. I try to improve my English by doing test from english-test.net. it helps me so much. English is really important for me,so i need to do it perfect. I also read books in English, but it's quiet difficult to read in american-english. My main problem is grammar and I hope that your English tests will solve this problem. Thanks again.

Dear Alan!
Thank you very much for your news letter and for all the previous ones as well. I really enjoy reading them and studying them too. Currently, I am on leave. I mean don't teach these days. In fact, I am doing a different thing now to get more money as teachers are not paid sufficiently where I teach. Not only teachers, but also most of the other occupations. However, I will go back again to teaching soon and I will sure be happy to join the forums then. And now, how do you find my writing concerning grammar and structure? I will appreciate any feed back. Thanks for your time. Best Regards, Abdo |
