Hello! Question: Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Modern technology is creating a single world culture. Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion.
Answer:
From my point of view, modern technology is making a single culture on the Earth. I am convinced that it happens because of new communication techniques like television, radio or Internet. A few decades ago many places on the planet didnt have a connection with the remaining world, but now the situation has been changing.
Television influences greatly on the people all over the world. Since the creation of the satellite television it is possible to watch broadcasts from all over the world. The reports contain the same information and people start to think about the same things and believe in the same values. Listening to the conventional of Internet radio, people get used to like the same music trends. Many bands use the national motives in their tracks, expanding the diversity of music and sharing the legacy of their nations with the remaining world. I am sure that people could communicate with each other easier with the new technologies and such relations influence on our ways of life. Internet, considered as one of the greatest inventions in the human history, provides the possibilities to share any kinds of information and thoughts. As the result, any certain culture penetrates in others, creating new general culture. Internet is the place where painters, compositors and other artists are exchanging the new ideas and forming, erasing the borders between peoples.
Many new types of transport were developed during the last century, so people can travel simply. During these trips people learn about national rites and traditions, changing their own minds. People, who share the one culture, should have the same language and English is developing as this language. In high-tech industry English already is the standard for students and professionals.
Doubtless, the globalization of the culture is the unavoidable process. It has both advantages and disadvantages, but if the mankind is enough clever the new common culture will consists of the all partial cultures best parcels.
