Hello! Question: Some people think that human needs for farmland, housing and industry are more important than saving land for endangered animals. Do you agree or disagree with this point of view? Why or why not? Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion.
Answer: I completely disagree with the statement and I have some reasons to prove it. We should prevent extinction of animals to save heritage about the Earth’s history, we could learn some important things from them and we should care for our dumb animals finding other ways to realize our ambitions.
Saving animal diversity we save heritage for future generations. If we don’t protect land for endangered animals they will eventually extinct and there will not be any way backward. There are a lot of differences between studying the nature only theoretically and practically: a plenty of bisons were in the prairies of North America, but now students know about them only from books. These incredible animals formed the basis of Native Americans life, but now there is no one of them at all.
Producing food and good we use our existent knowledge. On the other hand, animals and especially rare ones could give us a lot of new attainments from history to bionics. Probably, people wouldn’t have invented an airplane, a submarine of a parachute without surveying of animals. Nowadays, studies are more complex, but scientists still have been inspiring by concealed abilities of animals. Learning about animals in their natural habitat helps us to unveil many things about our evolution.
Since mankind considers itself as the most tremendous power in the world, it could maintain, as any superpower, weaker animals. People believe that it’s possible to prison endangered animals in zoos and forgot about them, putting up new plants and cities. Doing that we will receive some short-term profit, but eventually it causes the disaster. People should maintain the poise, given by nature. If it is necessary to improve productivity of farmland, we should invent new technologies rather that simply expand area. If it’s necessary to build more homes, we should create higher buildings and so on.
I strongly believe that there are a lot of ways how to save land for endangered animals, but the most important thing is the consciousness of people. While we think only about our prosperity, we are unable to think about true beauty.
