Hi Slava
You might hold your breath, for example, when you dive into a swimming pool. In other words, you stop breathing while you are under water. Sometimes people also react by holding their breath when they get excited that something is about to happen. Of course, if you go too long without breathing, you will die, so you can only safely hold your breath for a short period of time.
When someone says "Don't hold your breath" in a context such as the one here, they are telling you that something is not likely to happen anytime soon -- if at all.
In other words, it would be a bad idea to hold your breath until it happens -- especially since it may not happen at all. _________________ "Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power." ~ Abraham Lincoln |

ROFL ! ! !
Prior to reading this string of posts, here's what I'd known about Newcastle:
1. Newcastle is home to Newcastle Brown Ale (or Nut Brown Ale) 2. Newcastle is in northern, or northeastern, England. 3. Newcastle's full name is Newcastle-Upon-Tyne (with or without hyphens) 4. Newcastle is home to Newcastle FC. They're know as the "Magpies". _________________ Billie Jean is not my lover. Hee. |
