How about screechy, shrill or off-key? _________________ "Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power." ~ Abraham Lincoln |

Hi Tom,
I know exactly what you mean. I would suggest jarring or tuneless.
A voice can grate on your nerves in the sense that it has an unpleasant effect on your nerves. From that you can get 'a grating voice'.

. Along the same lines as diverhank, you could also say crummy, rotten, or dreadful. They can all be used to mean "terrible". . _________________ "Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power." ~ Abraham Lincoln |
