Hi,
Could you please tell me if there is any difference in those two words?

I feel those are contradictory to each other.

"I'd like to leave the legal entity loading based off the production month control".
In which context the word is used here?

Can you clarify?

Regards,
Swapnil.

I'd suggest 'based off' and 'based on' are antinomic too. Your sentence might mean "I'd like to leave the legal entity loading not based on the production month control".

Ohh...but When I tried searching this on web, wherever it was used it seemed to be "based on". I feel "based off" could be another way of saying "based on" hee hee hee

some examples..
C++ is based off C
ParseXML creates the DOM based off of an xml file passed to it
Firefox 1.0 likely to be based off the 1.7 branch

Comments please :D

I would still like to suggest that the 'based off' and 'based off of' in your computer science and technology examples as well give out a sense of deflection as 'off' indicates instead of being supported by or in contact with as 'on' manifests.
