A and B are correct. The question should also begin with a capital letter and end with a question mark.

Hi, Jamie.
Are you sure that B is correct?
If he has gone to the club, he is probably still there, isnt he? (At least, he has gone, which means that he is not here anymore) Then how is she able to ask him this question? (i.e. I dont see why she has to ask it)

Could you, please, elaborate on your answer a little bit more, so I can understand why you went for option B?

Thank you

He may have gone to the sports club and already come back.

Take this example: A lady I worked with was Baptist, and she was used to spending all day in church on Sunday, going home for dinner and then going back to church in the evening. Most Catholics spend only about an hour in church on Sunday. The lady told me once, "I used to think Catholics didn't go to church on Sunday, because I'd see their kids in the street playing. Then I realized that they'd already gone to church and come back." She could also have said, "Then I realized that they'd already been to church and come back." It would have meant the same thing.

I think you're getting gone the past participle mixed up with gone the adjective, which in Russian means proch'.

Note the difference between, "He is gone," and, "He has gone."

Hi, Jamie

Thanks for clearing that up for me.
I mixed up "He is gone" and "He has gone." (They are the same if one uses their short form: He's gone Smile )

BTW, gone in that context (He is gone) means "ушел" in Russian. Прочь = off ! (imperative) Smile

I prefer A, but B is also acceptable.

C is what you'd probably hear in the South.

Yes

And the command would be, "Get you to the sports club."

We are sure that both A and B are correct. If either one of them is marked wrong, then there's a problem with the test, and not with the person who took the test.

We can't advise you on what would be the "right right answer" and the "wrong right answer" on a bad test. You just need to throw a dart.

While Jamie panders to both candidates, I'll be decisive:

Go with A!

Just don't be surprised if A turns out to be "wrong". And don't be surprised if B turns out to be "wrong". Very Happy

ROFL

And don't be surprised if the test turns out to have been written by a Southern high school dropout.

hehe
