why do you explane your answers too generally? It's no use with the learners who "learn E as foreign language" like me. I think you should give more details in explanations or some examples for them. Thanks a lot.

I would agree with your point.

As you may know sometimes phrase are idiomatic and "hook them up" is such an example. Imagine they are like a fishing rod an fish, get the picture?

Also "get together" is anothe prase for meet in a social context.
