Meaning of Inspect the plumbing #2 (permalink) Tue Jun 19, 2007 15:35 pm   Meaning of Inspect the plumbing

Inspect the plumbing means to examine the water pipes in a house or building, or in slang to inspect a person's urinary tract.

Hit the nail on the head, as an idiom, means to make an extremely accurate statement. In a workshop it means to hit the head of a nail.

To get steamed up can mean to get very angry or very sexually aroused. It can also mean to get covered with condensation from steam, as when someone takes a shower and steams up a bathroom mirror.

To sit on the fence can mean not to take either side of a debate or argument. It can also mean to sit on a fence.
