I'd like to say "Hi!" from Kharkov - the first capital of Ukraine. Well, it used to be USSR (Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republics).
I'm Natalia, 24 years old.
I try to improve my English that's why I'm here. My experience in learning English is not big so I beg your pardon if I make mistakes Smile
Some words about myself:
I'm quite interesting in sport. Especially I like rolling blades and like to watch football match (I'm fan of my national team Cool ).
Now I'm getting the second education (economic) 'coz the first education (applied math) seemed to be not enough. My hobby is reading and also I like to embroider for relax.

Nice to meet all of U.

Hi Natalia,

Welcome to the community!

Where did you study English? I guess you studied English at University but exclusively mathematical texts with the special terminology, right? Wink

As far as I know, there are no members from Ukraine, save but you have joined us, but you may find members from Russia.

At Uni we had just usual English lessons which were not effective at all. Every year there was different teacher who started to teach the same from year to year. So every year every first lesson began from the same text "London is a capital of Great Britain" Laughing Also we had only one subject in English - it was discontinuous math which turned out insufficient for real life Laughing
After uni I decided to go to English courses and I'm still here. But the problem is not enough practise. U can learn a lot of grammat and have a good vocabulary but when U hear native speaker's speech U would understand alost nothing Sad
Anyway I hope to achieve my goal.

hi,
How are you today?
Greetings from Poland to my dear neighbours! So, Natalia, aren't our countires going to organize EURO 2012?? I see only black clouds and troubles looming on the horizon. Of course it’s only case when my down-to-earth aspect of my personality is speaking. I’m trying to be more optimistic towards the future but I haven’t noticed any new motorway or stadium, which isn’t only “in plans”. Anyway, at least we have got airports, right? Wink
By, the way, I had German classes with a very nice boy from Ukraine. I was a little bit jealous because his language skills were impressive: English, Polish, Russian, German and beginnings in Spanish. I mean wow.
See you!

Hi Poland! Hi hopeless_girl! I'm quite worry about EURO 2012 preparations too. We have a lot of problems according to it. U might hear about possible changing city which accepts the final. The cause is building a huge shopping centre in front of main stadium in Kiev which can turn out as a difficulty in case of possible evacuation.
U R lucky U can learn more than one foreing language Smile Once I tried to learn German and it was really difficult after learning English so my freak hasn't had happy final Smile

hi again,
I haven’t been here for so long, shame on me. Innominata don’t give up! It is not too late to start learning a new language. Maybe, I have got opportunity to learn German but I don’t get the most of it. My first big love is English 
I’m boasting recently of my participation in workshop, in which are involved groups from Ukraine and Germany. I’m looking forward for the meeting in few days time, it’ll take only one week but I believe it’ll be great fun. By the way, I hope to check my English in practice and my understanding in German, the last one – not easy task. The trouble usually is that German group may be from Berlin or other region where the accent is very “heavy” so that even if I know words I won’t understand what are they saying. Anyway, I take the dictionary, wish me luck in communicating!

Hello Natalia,

Please excuse me for writing directly to you. I would like to ask you whether you can recommend me any good English language courses in Kharkiv. If possible, it would be nice if you can point me some URL addresses of the institutions offering English courses.
I would like to know how they can prepare students for taking the TOEFL exams.
Thank you for your kindness to write back to me.

Yours,
Bin
