Hi teachers,

Lovers live by love like larks live by leeks.

Does this saying make sense to you? If not, how can we express the meaning that everything you love/like is good? Similarly, how can we express the meaning that when you are hungry, whatever you're eating is delicious?

Thanks in advance

.
I've never heard it before, but I get the idea. It is very catchy, but I don't think larks like leeks-- they are seed- and insect-eaters.

If you google 'to a starving man', you'll find a number of variations on 'A grain of rice is riches to a starving man'.
