"Yeah, well I went to boarding school with four hundred boys. Any sex I had would've involved a major lifestyle choice."

Did he actually have a sex with a man or just subjunctive past?

So confusing!!

Did you deny that he had had sex or that it is just the subjunctive past? Wink

He said he didn't have sex otherwise he would have been a homosexual.

"Any sex I had would've involved a major lifestyle choice"

I think Past Perfect Subjunctive Any sex I had had should have been used here but it is clear that the Perfect conjugation with would've involved, indicates that the condition expressed in the clause "Any sex I had" is false.

I thought so too, it shoud have been read "Any sex I had had ....".
That's why I confused a bit.
Is this kind of mistake or omission common among native English speaking people or just among uneducated people?

Phoo..I'd call this an omission...the sentence you quoted would be how a majority , if not all, native speakers would have written it. The quote obviously has come off a novel or something like that, not from an uneducated source.
