Although people attend college or university for many reasons, I think that the main reason is for their career preparation. I believe this is that a college or university degree is essential for getting a job and also it is the college or university’s education that makes a person to be competent to their job.

Firstly, a graduation certification is essential to find a job. When you search for a job, you can see that nearly all job posts have a minimal education requirement stating that bachelor or above bachelor’s degree are required. Even some low technology jobs, such as secretary and administrative work also have that kind of requirement. So, to make sure you can find a job, people have to go to college to get a certificate.

On the other hand, the college or university’s education can make sure you are competent to the job you have. Today many jobs require high technologic skills to handle them. For example, in a factory there are computerized-tools or instruments, so the workers need to master computer skill. If your knowledge can not catch up with the advanced-technology, you may be left behind of the time. In fact, many people have been laid off because they are not competent with their high technology job.

As above said, the college or university education is basic for people to find a job and also it is important for them to hold their job. The high education is essential to match up with today’s high technology job. In conclusion, most of the people go to college or university is for career preparation.
