I have passed my TOEFL! Fri Jul 06, 2007 21:09 pm  I have passed my TOEFL!

Hello.
Today I didn't write an essay.
However, I have received my TOEFL score:

Reading:29
Listening:29
Speaking:20 (I was distracted)
Writing:27 (the topic was bad)
Total:105 (necessary 105 Wink )

Thank you all very much. The special gratitude to Alan, it would have been impossible to do my best in Writing without your help.

PS: But I'm not saying goodbye. I simply go to the GRE section (but not today, now I too tipsy because of this great event celebration). Mr. Green

It's not a problem at all. There are several simple pieces of advice:
1) download all the material from Internet (books, audios, software). There are a lot of them on rapidshare.com servers. Type "TOEFL iBT rapidshare" in yahoo and you'll acquire a lot of links.
2) Try to speak with somebody on a regular basis.
3) Read as much as possible, especially magazins like Economist or Scientific American.
4) Listen to the mp3 lectures from US universities (subject has no matter).
5) Main rule : weeekdays - 3hours, holidays - 5 hours during 4 months. The result is guaranteed even if you know nothing about all this English.

Thanks for advice Konstantin. I really appreciate. I have many practice tests downloaded from internet and I take at least one of them a day. It is really very useful. I am good at reading and listening but sometimes I face complicated of irrelevant topics on listening section which cause me to lose a few points. However the real problem is writing section. I have a little problem on writing about timing. It takes at least 35 minutes to complete an essay of 300 words and even not enough time remaining for revising essay and correcting the mistakes. Do you have any advice on writing section for timing?

Sure.
When I started, I wrote one essay in 1.5 or 2 hours.
After 25-30 of essays your typing skills will be OK and you will have plenty of time to revise your story, believe me.

Thanks Konstantin. I have realized that you are preparing for GRE exam. I will also take it after passed the TOEFL. I plan to take it at Jan. or Feb. I heard that when you passed the TOEFL exam, GRE would be much easier. Is that true? What do you think what the hardest section in GRE is? Do you have some advice on preparing GRE?

Hello vuralorion.
Your suggestion about my intention is right. As for me I believe that it's better to pass TOEFL at first. It's easier (however one has to learn specific skills) and you will acquire ideas about lingual exams. Since I'm an engineering student I have to do my best in Quantitative section (6th class in the school), but the hardest one is, of course, Verbal section. Currently, I think that the key for this exam is Vocabulary, so start to expand it as earlier as possible.
