stupid and dumb English test. #21 (permalink) Tue Dec 30, 2008 2:58 am   stupid and dumb English test.

Hi Torsten

I understand Allen's explanation of stupid and dumb. But still I think that " I expect you think I'm dumb" is also correct.

Hi, Mr. Torsten.
I got 8 out of the ten test. I want to ask about difference between habit and manner. And why must we say 'go away' than 'go out?' Thanks. And i wait for the answer soon.

Hi Torsen,

Are you convinced with the suggestion (taking out the "dumb" choice). Pleased don't fix it. This makes the forum so lively :)

Hi Ash,
Let me share my opinion on your question of uncertaintiy and probability: uncertainty is a description of unknown future, events, occasions, happenings, etc. It is not known what to expect. For example: uncertainty is the reason/cause of stress. Probability is a concept or definition to measure the uncertainty. It can be measured by %, or by a number from 0-1 range, which would tell information about uncertainty. For example if it is going to snow at 60% probability, it is still uncertain will it snow or not. However the probability makes the expectation less (let's say for smaller 50%) or more (for over 50%) likely. Hope this is helpful. Take care. Arthur

You write a letter on paper and you send an email via the Internet. So you can say that an email is an electronic letter not a paper-based one.

I have to go,we have to go,she has to go
I don't have to go
She dosen't have to go. I feel my conjugation is correct.
If my friend says, She doesn't HAS to go, my friend is wrong.
Am I correct?
