Hi,
I prefer short stories to poems. Poems are usually too difficult for me because of my rather poor vocabulary. I often know only one possible meaning of a word. :-)

Hi!
Here is one for you:
The Hobby

I like fishing more than anything else. It’s my favourite hobby. Whereever he went he could repeat these words. Why? Nobody could understand. One day he said the same thing to me and I wondered why he liked fishing. Here is what he told me.

Fishing is my favourite hobby. I often fish for hours and never catch anything. But this doesn’t seem to worry me. Some fishermen are unlucky. Instead of catching fish, they catch old boots, rubbish and what not. I am not so lucky. I never catch anything – not even old boots. After spending long hours in the morning on the river, I always go home with an empty bag. “ You must give up fishing, my friends say.” My wife even doesn’t want to speak about it. But they don’t understand one thing. Really I don’t want to catch a fish. I just like sitting on a boat and doing nothing. I can relax and the next day I am full of energy. I work better than my friends. I earn more money than they. They often ask me, “ How can you have so much money?” And I answer them, “ It is because I like fishing.”

After listening to his story I decided to take up a hobby. I’m so tired of working. A hobby like fishing will help me relax. And my friends will ask me one day, “ How did you manage to become so rich?” And I’ll answer them, “It’s because I like fishing.”

Hi,
I had a classmate, who wrote short stories. I think it's a gift to write something short with characters and what is more important with a message or moral. I'm a little bit jelaous of this gift but not everybody can be Hemingway or Bolesław Prus.

I've enjoyed your short story Harry Smith, thanks

You are most welcome!
I have a very simple poem which I wrote for my students last year. I think you'd like it. Here it is:
Learning English

Learning English is very easy
If you are not too busy,
It won't take you long
If your wish is too strong.

Learning English becomes easy
If you are not too lazy,
You can learn it very fast
And speak fluently at last.

Nice girl you are! Besides trying you should have a very great wish.
An Italian asked me to teach him English last year. He said he had a very great wish to learn English. I taught him 90 days and he said he had no problem with his English beacause he even speaks to his American partner over the telephone. I was very happy to help him.

Hello Rita,

Can I ask how many hours a day you learn English?

Hello Harry,

Can I ask a question? I notice that you seem to have a long-time experience in teaching English. I'd like your advice about what I should teach a student who can just know ABC. :D

Thanks.

Hello, Rosalisa!
Nice to meet you. I always start my teaching with ABC(the alphabet) the count(1,2,3...1000000) and the reading rules. During my first five lessons I'm trying to make my students remember about 500 new words. Even if they say they have studied English before I start like I said. It doesn't matter to me. Cheers!

And after you have taught at least 500 words and the readings rules, is it time yet to teach grammar to them? Do you teach vocabulary and grammar at the same time? :D

Thanks very much indeed for your answers.

It's impossible to teach English without teaching grammar. Of course,I don't have special grammar lessons. I just teach it while reading texts or discussing different topics. I never ignore grammar. Actually I teach vocabulary and grammar at the same time.
Bye the way you can visit my homepage:www.enGGlish.net. I have even organised a forum for my private students and all those who are willing to study English. It's completely free. :)

Hi everybody !

My name is Duong from Viet Nam. I am 24 years old and graduated Ha Noi University of foreign studies 2 years ago. Now I work for company AT Travel as a tour guide.
Actually, I speak russian better than english but in oder to surpport my job, I want to learn and use English as the third language. In addition English is international language so that people all over the world can understand each others.
Wherever you go, you can communicate with local people in English to find the hotels, ways, central entertainment e.t.c . In most cases english is very usefull.

Now I wanna to join with you to improve my English. If I make some mistakes(even small) in grammar, use of words, spelling, please show me and help me to fix it.

Thanks You All .
