Have you ever met or used a mediator? Fri Jul 13, 2007 18:10 pm  Have you ever met or used a mediator?

Hi,

How popular are mediators in your country? I'm asking because our daughter is going to live with a US host family and the host father works as a mediator. It sounds like a very interesting yet challenging profession, probably a combination of psychologist and lawyer.

As far as I know mediators are not that popular here in Germany yet although I could imagine that the demand for their services is constantly growing. So what is the situation in the US or your country? Have you ever heard about mediators or even met one?

Thanks,
Torsten

It's something new for me. But why do they need to have it if they have perfect lawyers and psycologists? Wink

Hi Harry,

Who do you mean by "they" and why do you think "they" have perfect lawyers and psychologists? What about lawyers in Russia, would you describe them as "perfect" too?

When I say " they" I mean American lawyers and psycologists. Unfortunately we haven't got perfect lawyers and psycologists. We need some period of time to catch up with the rest of the world.
