What do you like to buy and hate to buy? #1 (permalink) Wed Jul 18, 2007 2:36 am   What do you like to buy and hate to buy?

Are there things you hate paying for and things you like to pay for?

Sometimes I will pay for an expensive piece of software without even blinking. Even if I might not need it, I don't mind paying for it. However, I put off grocery shopping until my kitchen is almost empty, because, even though I need it, I hate paying for food.

I know this is backwards, but that's how my mind works. How about you?

I don't like buying food. I buy books with pleasure.

Because you need them. I hate buying food, but I have to buy it or starve.

Do you hate buying things only or eating too? Then you seem to be starving. Wink

I can't say I hate buying food, I'd say I enjoy buying and sometimes cooking..
Sometimes I'm lazy to go and buy something I need but I wouldn't say I hate doing it..

Things for which I don't mind shelling out cash:
- food (I live to eat)
- beer
- digital cable (especially with football season coming up -- i will watch as much football as possible)

Things i'll put off (or am currently putting off) even though I probably need them:
- household cleaning products
- new car (I own my car -- no monthly payment)

Shopping is a real chore to me. Now, paying for things isn't. If I could have everything delivered to my door, I'd be very happy (and always broke, probably).

The few things I enjoy going shopping for are books (tremendously so) and decoration items for the house.

Shopping sucks especially when you buy clothes. I hate having to choose between this pair of jeans and that. Just cant make up my mind. And as a result of this I end up with something I blame myself for buying later Smile

In English this emotion is called "buyer's remorse".

What do you like to buy and hate to buy? #14 (permalink) Sat Jul 21, 2007 15:00 pm   What do you like to buy and hate to buy?

Hello,

I love buying shoes (my father called me Imelda Marcos once because of my collection of shoes, behind my back!) and skincare and cosmetics, except for lipsticks( the right colour is so hard to find). Earrings too. Oh, love them! I can even open an earrings' shop.

When I was attending the university, I liked buying revision books. Somehow I hate borrowing them from my professors (maybe it's because I had to be very careful and my hand itched to scribble on them). But of course if they were too expensive I had no other choice but to borrow them.

So far, the only thing I regretted buying this year is my Gigabeat, the software sucks. And yes, all the make-ups, earrings and shoes, because of my profession, I don't get to wear them anymore. My bestfriends now are a pair of jeans and sneakers. I don't think I can wear heels now, either. Crying or Very sad
