Hi,

How patient are you? Are you the sort of person who can control their temper? Or are you the sort of person who is on a very short fuse and, as we say, blows their top, loses their rag, hits the roof at very short notice, at the drop of a hat? In other words are you irascible or phlegmatic?

Alan

Hi, Alan

I consider myself calm and peacefull, I very rarely blow my top and always try to remain calm no matter what. But if somebody is asking for it, I always let him have it Smile

And a counter-question: how often do you fly into a rage ?

Hi Alan,

I think I am quite patient Very Happy. I feel I can often control my temper and won't throw a tandrum at others when I have it. I learn to count till a hundred first before I say anything or do anything that makes me regret later. When I want to show my anger, I just want it to be a healthy one. I mustn't blow my top, lose my rag or hit the roof at very short notice. Very Happy Yet, I'm looking for a reason first. If this doesn't help, getting calm is a good choice because controling one's temper saves a lot of energy. Very Happy

Hi!

I dread I?m not that patient person and too often suffer from stomach ache while waiting.

Despite that, I must admit, that being patiently can make one a fortune. I experienced this while looking for a new used car recently. I?ve been looking over 5 month and finally got one that matches perfectly to my requests and that all for an acceptable price ( I mean not considering the stomach ache I suffered from Wink )

Thinking about what I was going to answer made me realise that I don’t fly off the handle much any more. Some things, or rather some people, still drive me up the wall, of course, and that’s when yodelling or opera singing comes in handy. For some reason, very loud noises sort of calm me down when I'm mad (only then and not if someone else makes the noise). I used to have to slam doors or bang things around as hard as I possibly could (I would have literally hit the roof if I had been on top of one) – feeling silly afterwards and still quite angry.

Now, I don’t think I’ve learnt to control my anger. It’s rather that I don’t lose my temper so easily (or so it seems) – this just goes to show what age can do to you!

Hi Conchita!

There I thought: becoming calmer would be an evidence of wisdom..... Rolling Eyes

Nonetheless, not flying off the handle ..............( Thanks for this and the other sayings)

Hi Alan,

How patient am I? Not very, I'm afraid. I always find myself doing the chores I ask my sisters to do when they are being too slow. I hate waiting also. Unlike Michael, I don't get stomach ache but my face gets very red, I can even feel the heat.

I am very cheerful and bubbly in person, but when I am mad, I get extremely quiet and usually do nothing about it. I just imagine horrible things.

Like when I had to deal with very naughty boys, I don't spank them, because it's against my principle to spank children, but wanting to or thinking of it is a different matter.

I want to spank them, but I don't.

Laughing When I was a child, I usually could not control my temper. Day by day, I got much more experience I realized that irascibility would destroy all. After graduation, I got a job which originally needs calm, decisive, sometimes phlegmatic and of course non except for patient. Working environment has effects on me and I become more mature step by step.

?? If we are not patient how can we become more patient? Question
