I want to tell you about The Independence of Uzbekistan. After 1991 the USSR had no more existed, The Republic of Uzbekistan became Independent. What benefits got citizens of Uzbekistan and which problem they faced?

After Independence, our country became democratic republic. New country founded in new rules of constitution, which gave freedom of speech and freedom of mind. New history began for Uzbekistan. The day of Independence celebrated in 1 of September. The street of Uzbekistan cities filled up with people who go out to celebrate the Independence. Market economy was main thing that we should build in our country. Our country began to build new relationship with foreign countries. For example: in Uzbekistan were established many new foreign companies, joint companies, global organization. Many traditions revived after 1991. Historical monuments were renewed. All of this of course is good, but also after Independence we faced with many new problems.

The first problem I think it was the building of new mechanism of market economy. It was really difficult to build new economy, because we had many problems, one of them was currency. After independence currency had to be changed, new currency is new expenses. That time the level of life was very low. Also many factories stopped to work, because of resource lack. Many resources provided from another countries of USSR. New country had to build new army. New army is also new expenses. The economy of Uzbekistan could not to cover all this expenses. But these problems had to be resolved. Also new structure of education had to be build. Our government decided to change structure of education in order to satisfy the requirements of world standards education. New books were published and new lyceums were built.

In spite of all these problems, we got new life. Our fates are in our hands. I think every country has many problems when it gets independence. I hope that one day maybe our generation may be next generation will live in country with strong economy, high standard of life and strong army.
