Hi,
I want to tell you about The Independence of Uzbekistan. After 1991 the USSR no LONGER existed, The Republic of Uzbekistan became Independent. What benefits DID citizens of Uzbekistan GET and which problemS DID they face?
After Independence, our country became A democratic republic - A new country founded On new rules of constitution, which gave freedom of speech and freedom of mind. A new history began for Uzbekistan. The day of Independence WAS celebrated ON 1 September. The streetS of Uzbekistan cities filled up with people who WENT out to celebrate the Independence. A Market economy was THE main thing that we should build in our country. Our country began to build new relationshipS with foreign countries. For example: in Uzbekistan were established many new foreign companies, joint companies, global organizationS. Many traditions revived after 1991. Historical monuments were renewed. All of this of course is good, but also after Independence we WERE faced with many new problems.
The first problem I think it was the building of A new mechanism of market economy. It was really difficult to build A new economy, because we had many problems, one of them was currency. After independence currency had to be changed, A new currency MEANS new expenses. That time the level of life was very low. Also many factories stopped work, because of LACK OF resourceS . Many resources WERE provided from other countries of USSR. A new country had to build A new army. A new army is also new expenses. The economy of Uzbekistan could not to cover all this expensIVE. But these problems had to be resolved. Also A new structure of education had to be builT. Our government decided to change THE structure of education in order to satisfy the requirements of world standards IN education. New books were published and new lyceums were built.
In spite of all these problems, we got A new life. Our fates are in our hands. I think every country has many problems when it gets independence. I hope that one day maybe our generation may be THE next generation will live in A country with A strong economy, A high standard of LIVING and A strong army.
