Hi,

Have you heard of this guy Vince Bonzo who has created the "Backwards Bush Clock"? It's a digital clock with counts the days, hours and minutes until Bush leaves office. The amazing thing about this clock is that Bonzo has been selling his clock from his home through the Internet. He is getting up to 100 orders per day -- looks like a great business idea. (one clock costs between 10 and 30 Dollars depending on the model.)
What do you think?

Hi Torsten

I just wonder why it took so long for somebody to come up with this gimmick. Wink

To me it would represent the days, hours, minutes, seconds (etc.) until our next tax hike (increase).

Woe be our pocketbooks if Hillary (or Obama) wins the White House! Socialized medicine alone will cause a monumental increase in taxes and unemployment -- both of which will reap negative repercussions on America's economy.

hehe

(I'm not quite Milton Friedman, but I'm not far from him economically -- financial liberty should be, and I think is, America's economic ideal... FDR's venture into socialism notwithstanding. We probably needed some of those measures during the Depression.)

I'm with Prezbucky. Bush leaving office -- if a Democrat takes over -- will probably be disastrous for the US economy, especially if there is a Democrat majority in Congress. Taxes will increase, people will probably be forced to enroll in the same uniformly inefficient healthcare system, even if it's not best for them, and terrorism will get worse instead of better. We didn't get the full effect with Hillary's husband, because he had to work with a Republican Congress. To see what can REALLY happen, look back to the years Jimmy Carter was president.

One of my friends from Iraq, who is now a US citizen, has a very interesting intuition about what will happen in the next couple of elections. She thinks that Hillary Clinton will get elected president, and that in four years she will do so much damage to the economy, to the military and to the nation in general, that by the next election all the vitriol against Bush will have died down, people will be angry at the Democrats, and another Republican will be elected. She may be right, because this is exactly what happened when the US went from Nixon to Carter to Reagan.

I don't interpret the "Backwards Clock" as a commentary on whether Republicans and Democrats are better, but rather as a gimmicky commentary on a particular President. Wink
