I pay 1200 rubles for a month, the speed is 660 kbit/sec (84 kB/sec), trafic is unlimited.

I have them accept my rubles because I strike them as totally and indesputably cool 8) 8) 8) .
I just so much took to rubles when I used to live in Russia that I cant withdraw from using them :) |

| In Michigan I pay about $24 a month for 22000 kbit/sec. Sometimes it's faster, depending on traffic, the time of day, etc. My access is unlimited, and it's always on. This comes from my local phone company. |

No doubt your connection kicks us.:) If I only had a connection this fast (i'd have all microsoft fads downloaded in no time :) ) 20 mbit/sec is totally cool

Wait. I'm getting confused. The phone company said I get up to 3 Mbps. However, when I go to websites that clock my Internet connection speed, they give me readings of 14 to 22 Mbps. I don't know what the heck that's about, because a $40 cable connection promises 12 Mbps, supposedly three to four times as fast as the phone company's DSL. But here's my DSL running faster than what the cable TV company offers. Maybe the companies low-ball their promises, I don't know. Also, sometimes they improve your service without telling you. (It's capitalist competition at work.) All I know is that I have fast downloads, can watch TV, etc.
Yes, I've got DSL.
America may kick you guys, but only because we've been maintaining our phone lines over the past century. You guys had a lot of catching up to do after 1991, but you'll no doubt get there.
Besides that, people in a neighborhood near me can't seem to get DSL, and nobody knows why. In many small towns and rural areas, neither DSL nor cable connections are available, and they have to use a satellite dish. |

At first sight it looks like your company promised you a connection at the speed of 3 MB/ses = 24 Mbit/sec.

Hi Harry,
Lost Soul might be able to do more for Russia if he/she goes to the US than if he/she stays at home. So, she/he actually might be a real patriot.
