Hi, I have checked the expression in the dictionary it means:
If you say 2 things in the same breath,you say 2 things that are so different that if one is true, the other must be fulse.
for example: You say you are bored and frustrated but in the same breath say you're resigned to staying in the same job.
by the way it means denying and contradicting.
