Ok Only china is enough, because there are over 10,0000,0000 chinese in China so it means over1/6 people on this planet believe Taiwan is a part of China even there are no people from other countries believing it. BY the way I believe there must be some people of other countries believe it as well. So I don't need to be worried about it. _________________ Try to change youself before you try to change others. |

SO the USA is a coward? because he supports what he doesn't believe which seems not the characteristics of the USA. This case proves again that what the usa supports isn't justic at all. he only does things favoring their own benefits.
So stopping saying what this country is doing is for human rights of the world. Last time I nearly laughed to die when an American said that it was the USA that helped China return UN. OMG. lmao. _________________ Try to change youself before you try to change others. |

When I first heard of Taiwan, I must admit that I thought it's part of China but now I believe that Taiwan is an independent state as it's willing to be.
When you refer to the USA, I think it's better to say 'the USA government' because not all the the American people agree with what the government took action to do. _________________ Nicholas |

Hi, Jamie,
Incidentally, why do you use the Present Continuous when you say "Why are you learning English"? I consider learning English as an endless, usual process. Wouldn't it be more precise to ask "Why do you learn English" ? Or maybe it is a sort of fixed question and I can't change the tense? |

Hi Alex
The use of the present simple would be more typical in a more general question -- a question which basically encompasses the whole procedure of learning a language. For example: Why do people learn English? . |

Edison,
I don't understand Mandarin at all, but I can understand Hokkien like 20 or 30% ( I used to speak the language when I was small) and I know by heart the song "Liang Shan Bo Yu Zhu Li Ye" and my favourite phrase is "Nan dao ni bu dong wo de xin?".
So romantic.
