| I've read a little James Joyce, mainly his book "Dubliners". I don't find him difficult, but I find him a bit boring. |

Hi
I have got a couple incoherent questions to ask:
1- Have you ever read James Joyce? Did you find him very difficult? Do you like his writing?

I've read "Dubliners" and it's pretty straight forward. I've read half of "Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man", and I pretty much stopped at the point when it was getting too difficult (and boring, too).
I also attempted to read "Ulysses". Same experience as towards the end of "Portrait of the Artist...", this time right from the start. I dropped it after some 120 pages or so because his Stream of Consciousness technique was becoming increasingly unpalatable. Intentionally unpalatable, but nevertheless indigestible.
I like Dubliners, but I wouldn't recommend any other of his books. _________________ Test of English as a Foreign Language TOEFL Preparation & TOEFL Vocabulary Learn more: How to Become an English Teacher |
