This is what I found on the internet, make your own assessment!
My opinion is that the TOEIC Test is accepted worldwide as proof of English proficiency and therefore will currently offer a greater benefit ...
Personally, I don't like the sound of what I found below, but after consideration will wait a few years and see if the test proves itself.....

I happen to know something about the test since I am one of the cofounders of the company that developed the test. We spent better than three years researching and writing what we feel is the very best internet based English language test on the market--that was our mission. We hope potential customers who take a careful look at the test will agree with us. The test (90 minutes in length) covers all skills with the writing and speaking portions graded by our trained ESL graders. There are both academic and buisness versions. My personal background in this field covers more than 35 years as president of ELS Language Centers. I encourage you to take a look at the test and I encourage you to critique the test. We know it is good, and we also know that it can always be better. We at Boston Ed would love to hear from you---really. Perry Akins |

| Boston Educational Services, the owner of iTEP, now has over 40 international test sites and more will soon be on line. We recently signed distributorships for the test covering Chile, Colombia, Turkey and the PRC. The iTEP is an internet based test and takes 90 minutes to complete. Must be taken at a Certified iTEP test site. For more information, you can visit our web site at www.BostonEducational.com |

Hello Perry,
Is it possible to get some samples of questions in the listening section of the iTEP? Many thanks, Torsten _________________ Test Of English for International Communication TOEIC Preparation & TOEIC Vocabulary |

Hi Torsten: You can see some sample questions on the web site: www.BostonEducational.com. Or, better yet, if you have a solid broad band connection, and you have a little time, let me help you make arrangements to take the test---no charge, of course. Tell me something about yourself if you wish to proceed. Best, Perry |

Hi Perry,
Thanks for your immediate response. Yes, I looked at the pictures but couldn't find the audio files. So yes, it would be great if we can arrange a time for a presentation. I do have a broad band Internet connection.

Hello Sir Perry,
What are your iTEP plans for Korea? How many centers in South Korea are currently offering this iTEP?
Thanks!

Eyah: We have one Certified Test Center in Seoul. This center is authorized to administer iTEP under secure conditions. We naturally view tremendous potential in Korea for both the academic and business versions of iTEP. At present, we are in serious negotiations with a distributor who is in the field of education. If those negotiations fail, we have several other companies in Korea we plan to approach. Best, Perry Chairman Boston Educational Services |

Hello Perry,
Thank you very much for emailing me the iTEP information. I'll do the technical requirement test early next week. In the meantime, can you please tell me something about your iTEP plans for Germany?

Torsten: The only activity so far for Europe is that we have developed a special AuPair version for a London company. This version includes only the listening and speaking portions of the test---their only interest. The organization sends some 5000 AuPairs to the U.S. annually. We do have a test site in Florence, Italy and plan to expand the number of test sites. The test sites administer iTEP to students who have been referred to the site by a U.S. college or university. With respect to European distributors for the test, we have done nothing at the moment. We plan to begin our distributor search for Europe in early 2010. Regards, Perry |

Thank you for the information Sir Perry. Are iTEP takers mostly students? Are you focusing these services for the students sector or do you have plans of tapping other industries in South Korea as well? iTEP seems really interesting.
Thanks!
