Baron's is the best! All of the other books out there try to teach you tricks and shortcuts and claim to know the secret. Come on! Do you really think that there is a secret to the SATs? Hard study and practice are what work, and the Baron's books are a no-nonsense, easy format type-of book with sooooo much practice material. Good luck. Smile

princeton= teaches u WORKING tricks that gets you up to 2000, it is easy to read and works for people with limited motivation(also beginners). it is a serious company targeted to beginners of the SAT, it developed its own method called the "joe bloggs" method, which works about 60% of the time. It practice questions are somewhat easier, but very identical to the real SAT.

kaplan= it was made purposely that questions in this book get easier as you read it. kaplan wants you to get higher scores with easier questions as you practice more, b/c that would make you think that kaplan actually helped you. the truth is, kaplan isnt as serious of a company as princeton or barron. it copies other books' problems, makes plenty of typos and purposely makes their questions easier. So, i do not recommend kaplan.

Barron= it is a very serious company for serious test takers. it is somewhat hard to read and the book requires you to actually study everything. it is boring for most people, but it is the only key to get scores above 2100. The practice questions are sometimes weird, but in general, the questions are decent.

I thought Arco also has decent strategies, but their practice questions are mostly copies of the collegeboard practice book
