Mr. A and Mr. B were quarelling over a ball for a while. So I went around them and said, "I will give you both half an hour cooling-off period, think over the issue and come together here after half an hour."

Are these sentences correct at least as to grammar? [Particularly the use of "cooling-off period"]

Hi,

They seem all right - just one or two points:

So I went over to them

a half (an) hour cooling-off period

come back here together after half an hour.

'Cooling off period' is fine.

Alan

Thank you Alan.
I have read a few stories where "around" or "by" is used in such contexts.
e.g. Two persons were crying together. After a few while, another man came around them and he too started crying with them.
