Hi Edison,
Why do you think Yoga is something that only gay people would engage in? _________________ Test Of English for International Communication TOEIC Preparation & TOEIC Vocabulary |

What would make you ask something like THAT? Of course it's not gay! Men -- very straight men -- have been practicing and teaching yoga for millennia! I just can't imagine why someone would think it was gay. It's like asking if karate is gay. |

Hi, Edison
Its up to you to decide what is gay or what is straight Just take up Yoga and find it out for yourself. I myself never did Yoga, so I cant tell you what it is like, but I think doing sport is never stupid. _________________ Alex

I don't know I feel that's like ballet, your body would be very very soft, it's not masculine at all. And of course karate is not gay! So you all have seen very very straight guy learning Yoga. OK maybe someday I would take it up but not do that just to meet the ladies like what Nina said. |

Male ballet dancers do NOT develop soft bodies! It's quite the opposite. They develop hard, very masculine bodies that most women like. |

First let's define what "gay" really means in this instance:
Unmanly/effeminate
Now, is it unmanly/effeminate? -- No, of course not
Does it have the reputation (in the US, at least) for being an unmanly activity for men? -- Yes, to a fair degree _________________ Billie Jean is not my lover. Hee. |

REALLY?! I've never run across anyone who thought yoga was effeminate or unmanly. They may think it's a little kooky, but not effeminate. The first time I saw real yoga was when my middle school brought in a man to demonstrate for us, twisting himself up like a pretzel, balancing his whole body in various ways on the palms of his hands, and doing other physically very demanding things. This guy was a real man's man, and I never imagined a sissy could do yoga.
Some people think aerobics is a girly sport, but originally it was developed (sans music) for people of both genders. When I was a little kid, my family had an Air Force manual of aerobics routines for both men and women. Now it's come to be seen as a girly sport, however, and you virtually never see American men in an aerobics class. |

I'm talking about the football/"real men wear black"/NASCAR crowd.
Speaking of NASCAR -- it's growing in popularity, but it's still biggest in the South and (hence) carries the nickname "NECKCAR" among some. hehe
Of course, if one guy in a group of die-hard wife-beater-wearing NASCAR fans were to try yoga and broadcast its benefits to his friends, they'd probably give him a hard time about it... but two weeks later they'd be watching the race in their tutus. hehe _________________ Billie Jean is not my lover. I've just been called to jury duty for the 500,000th time in the past few years. (The court clerks say the names are chosen randomly by computer, but my cop brother-in-law says, "They know who shows up, and that's who they summon.")
Anyway, the criminal court where I have to serve is adjacent to a street called "Mullett". |
