Hi,

I have come across another sentence I am not clear about:

Quote:
He watched the dark eyeslits narrowing with greed till her eyes were green stones. (Chapter 4, Ulysses)

Does it suggest: the cat's eye slots narrowing circlewise till her eyes left only the pupils viewable like two green stones?

Thank you!

Hi Haihao

The pupils of the cat's eyes became extremely narrow vertical slits, so narrow that the pupils were barely visible, thus leaving only the green color of the cat's eyes visible.
