Do not worry, English is not more important than your own language.

I enjoyed reading the essay. It adds more delighting info regarding the history of one of the most international languages in the world. I am a secondary school teacher here in the Philippines and the essay can simply be taught to my students because of the idea's simplicity yet very interesting one. I look forward to reading more essays and other related pieces of genres so as to enlighten my mind. GODBLESS AND MABUHAY!

The article made superb reading material. The history of the English language was an educative one. I love Alan's writing - it keeps flowing, with colourful phrases, which one seldom comes across nowadays. Thanks you for bringing a smile on my face - Ah! Just the perfect dash of humour that one needs to keep drab topics interesting. Keep it up, Alan! Very Happy

That was a nice piece, Alan. I can't help but wonder, though, if the French reaction to that apostrophe will be "Quelle horreur! Sacre bleu! Ce ne'st pas possible!" Wink

I found it a very good way to learn English through studying essays by heart. I'm introduced to new words, thus enhancing my vocabulary. I've become more fluent! Thanks, Alan!
