I have seen this "mind" thing before and if I'm not mistaken it's to ephasize something previously said but in this case?

Hello,

A motorman can say this sentence before setting in motion the tram:
Mind, the doors are closing. /present continuous a future meaning. The motorman already decided and arranged to set in motion the tram./
