| If I felt like partying, I'd come. You definitely dont have to show up because she's not your close friend. If you feel like doing something else, don't go - she wont hold it against you. |

Yes, I do!!! (all right I know I'm not the groom )
Though your haven't been very close before, you can still go to their wedding to share the happiness she gonna have, it speads. You will feel that happiness as well so why not just go with a big smile? |

hey: I think it is very generous of you guys and seems I am a little curmudgeonly.Maybe it is the different culture some of my classmates have firmly told me:"I won't go to the ceremony." Because in many chinese's opinion it is nonsense to attend a person's wedding who is not close to you. Not to mention of presenting red letter to such a person. But to me I am not so sure about it in fact i like such an occassion.~~

Hi aleaf, I’ve been in situations of that ilk for many a time. I can remember just few classmates I am on friendly terms with. But nevertheless, when having time, I am liable to accept the invitation from any of my comrades..But in general I try to find a pretext for refusal as weddings, birthday parties and get-togethers… are not the places I enjoy visiting.
I don't think it's an impediment if someone deems it inappropriate/improper to visit a person you are not so close with. To be honest, I never take note of what other people consider right or wrong save for those who are supposedly intelligent. I have a head on my shoulders and act according to my own principles and preferences. But in your case it’s ultimately up to you to make a choice.

In my country jewelry, kitchen utensils, furniture and a sea of other things are welcome. All in all, everything newly weds need to have at their place.
Yes, money can be given as a present, but mainly gifted by relatives, if I am not mistaken. |
