Hi everyone.

I'd like to ask a question about the meaning of the word 'assorted' in the following passage:

Somehow Jasmine managed not to roll her eyes. They already knew that the speech tomorrow would be the summary of what the Council of Directors and other assorted GDI advisors had been discussing for the past several days behind closed doors here on the Philadelphia.

Hi Klpno,

'Assorted' suggests of different types and sorts to me. There is also a hint that these people (in your sentence) are a bit of a mixed bag - that possibly some of them are of less importance than others.
