| Or, you could also say, 'Many an early morning...'. Somehow, though, the adjective 'early' bothers me. It sounds as if he might still have breakfast later in the morning (but that's only my personal opinion). |

The speaker came to London but was too poor to afford the three meals. He had to skip breakfast for two months. Many years later he said:
