Hi

Today, I will certainly break the record on this forum--I mean, I will ask a question most preposterous in nature in the history of What do you want to talk about?

I will cherish frank appraisal.

Hi Tom,

I have remarked on this before about a piece you wrote that had a fine use of imagery and language. You may recall that. You have certainly gained in confidence and are prepared to take risks with your use of expression and style and I must admit you are mainly successful in these endeavours. Keep up the good work! If we could award a prize for improvement' I am sure you would receive it.

That was Mr Nice speaking but still sincerely meant.

Now Mr Nasty has to comment on the wording in your post. My suggestions are in brackets:

Today, I will certainly (I am certainly going to) break the record on this forum--I mean, I will ask a question most preposterous in nature (in its very nature most preposterous in terms of the history) in the history of What do you want to talk about?
I joined this forum last year. Do you see any improvement in my flow of writing (in the fluency of my writing)? How do you know that? (In what way have you noticed that?)

I will cherish frank appraisal. (I would value a frank appraisal)
.

Good luck,

Alan

Hi Tom

My original post seems to have gotten lost (along with quite a few others from yesterday), so I'll try to repeat what I wrote in my first post.

Yes, indeed! Your English has improved in a number of ways. It might surprise you to learn that I mention your name quite often when I talk about people who have done a fantastic job of not only learning English but also improving it. I can't help but feel a little bit like a mother bragging about her son's talent and success. Very Happy

Good job, Tom!
