Expression: get some wind off my chest #1 (permalink) Fri Sep 07, 2007 6:38 am   Expression: get some wind off my chest

Hi,

Could you please tell me what the meaning of the sentences are?

Quote:
Three months' renewal. Want to get some wind off my chest first. Try it anyhow. Rub in August: good idea: horseshow month. Ballsbridge. Tourists over for the show.(VII, Ulysses)

1. Is it saying: Want to get refreshed first or want to talk a little first?

Quote:
Mr Bloom passed on out of the clanking noises through the gallery on to the landing. Now am I going to tram it out all the way and then catch him out perhaps. Better phone him up first. Number? Yes. Same as Citron's house. Twentyeight. Twentyeight double four.

2. Of the context, is it possible to mean: Now I am going to take the tram to get out there possibly only to find him away?

Thank you!

Did you read my answers before they disappeared, Haihao? I think I suggested 'refreshed' and 'find him away'.

Hi Mister Micawber,

Yes, I did read your comments on this as well as on another post. But some of them disappeared somehow after my questions had been answered.

Thank you for your consideration!
