TOEFL® essay samples: Never make decison alone

Making decision is an important thing in a people’s life. I disagree that people should not make decision alone. I believe this because sometimes there are not time to consult other people, the decisions made with other people are always right and also you would not regret when a decision is wrong if the decision is made by yourself.

First, in some situation, you do not have time to consult others. For example, when a battle is under conducting, the commander needs to make decision by himself. If a commander does not make decision before consulting other people, then, a good opportunity may be lost and the troop may be destroyed. So people should learn to make decision alone and it can benefit a lot in a whole life.

Second, the decisions made with others are not always right. To make a right decision requires knowledge, information, experience and also some time instinct is important. It is not true that the more people you consulted, the more correct decisions you can make. On contrast, if you consult many people, they may have different ideas and that make it hard for you to make a decision.

Last, to make a decision by yourself, you would not regret even if the decision is wrong. When you changed your idea and made a decision after you listened to other people and the decision turns out to be wrong, you could regret and blame yourself, what is more, some time you would suspect your ability and may become depressed.

In conclusion, I think to make decision by yourself is a wise choice. This is because sometime you would not miss good opportunity by waiting for consulting, and also the decisions made with others are not always correct and even if a decision is wrong, you would regret if you made that decision by yourself.
